Active Cemeteries

NEA publishes the locations of active cemeteries in Singapore as spatial open data for planning and public information. Member datasets Active Cemeteries are available in GEOJSON and KML for GIS overlays and heritage-related research. Community groups and land-use analysts can understand where burial grounds remain in operation on the island. Users should treat geometry as NEA’s published indicative locations rather than legal land titles.

Active Cemeteries (GEOJSON)

National Environment Agency GeoJSON layer mapping active cemeteries in Singapore, where burials are still carried out. NEA administers burial and after-death services in Singapore, and the spatial format lets users plot cemetery locations, measure catchment distances, and combine them with planning area or land use layers. The agency notes that the dataset was last updated on 13 March 2024 and may be outdated, and directs further queries to NEA. Urban planners, funeral service providers, researchers on death care and land use, and map application developers are the typical users.
