Average Monthly Household Electricity Consumption by URA Planning Area & Dwelling Type, 2009

Energy Market Authority (EMA) geospatial data on average monthly household electricity consumption in 2009, by URA planning area and dwelling type in kWh. KML and GEOJSON layers let analysts map spatial disparities in residential energy use across HDB and private housing typologies. The ad-hoc 2009 snapshot supports historical baseline studies before smart-meter rollouts. Urban sustainability researchers overlay consumption with income, housing, and climate variables. The collection links EMA energy statistics to Singapore’s planning-area geography.

Average Monthly Household Electricity Consumption by URA Planning Area & Dwelling Type, 2009

GeoJSON layer from the Energy Market Authority mapping average monthly household electricity consumption in Singapore for 2009, measured in kilowatt-hours and broken down by URA planning area and dwelling type. Because consumption values are attached to planning area geometries, the dataset can be rendered directly as a choropleth map or joined to population, income and housing statistics. Energy analysts and researchers use it as a baseline year for studying how household electricity use varies between HDB flat types and private housing across different parts of the island.
