Average Monthly Recruitment/Resignation Rates by Industry and Occupational Group, Quarterly
Ministry of Manpower (MOM) Labour Market Survey feeds quarterly open data on average monthly recruitment and resignation rates by industry and occupational group in Singapore from 1998 to early 2023. Rates compare monthly inflows or outflows to average establishment employment during the quarter. Coverage expanded from large private firms to include the public sector from 2006. Labour economists can analyse hiring churn and retention pressures across sectors using the published methodology notes.

Source: Labour Market Survey, Manpower Research & Statistics Department, MOM The average monthly recruitment/resignation rate during a quarter is defined as the average number of persons recruited/resigned in a month during the quarter divided by the average number of employees in the establishment. Before 2006, the Labour Market Survey covers private sector establishments each with at least 25 employees. From 2006 onwards, the survey also covers the public sector. Data are rounded to one decimal place.
