National Heritage Board (NHB) open geospatial data marks historic sites commemorated with blue plaques or heritage markers across Singapore. Historic Sites (GEOJSON) and Historic Sites (KML) help educators and tourism planners map interpreted heritage locations even when original buildings no longer stand. Unlike gazetted national monuments, many marked sites are not legally protected structures. NHB publishes the layer on an ad-hoc cadence for public heritage awareness.
Marked Historic Sites are places of historical significance, for e.g., important event or personality are being commemorated at the site to serve as reminders of our history. It has a blue plaque / heritage marker which consists of a write-up on the history of the site. They are marked by the National Heritage Board. For some of these sites, the building may not be around anymore, as they are not gazetted buildings, unlike national monuments.
