Motivations to Participate in Sport / Physical Activity (2022)
Sport Singapore’s National Sports Participation Survey (NSPS) feeds open metadata on motivations to participate in sport and physical activity among residents who exercised in 2022. NSPS samples at least 4,500 Singapore residents aged 13+ continuously through the year with population weighting. Policy teams promoting active living can align programmes with stated reasons for joining sports. The 2022 annual collection may appear without separate downloadable CSV members in the portal listing.

Source: National Sports Participation Survey (NSPS). NSPS is a nationwide survey conducted by Sport Singapore to track sport and physical activity participation amongst Singapore Residents aged 13+ years, with data collected continuously across the year and with robust annual sample sizes of at least 4,500 and weighted to reflect the population. This data shows the motivations for participating in sports and physical activities (among residents who participated).
