Percentage of Normal (Academic) Level Students Who Passed Mother Tongue Language
Ministry of Education (MOE) tracks the share of Normal (Academic) level students who pass Mother Tongue Language annually from 2008 through 2021. The CSV dataset reports students achieving grade C5 or better, with notes excluding certain through-train pupils and counting higher-level offerings. Education researchers comparing N(A) pathways and language outcomes can use this alongside other MOE examination collections. The series supports open-data analysis of mother tongue attainment in Singapore’s secondary assessment system.

Notes: 1) Figures exclude N(A) students on the Through-train Programme who progress to Secondary 5 N(A) without taking the N(A)-Level Examination.
2) Students who offer the subject at a higher level are also taken into consideration.
