Annual Fuel Mix for Electricity Generation by Energy Products, 2005 to Jun 2021
Description
Annual fuel mix for electricity generation in Singapore from 2005 to June 2021, giving the percentage share of each energy product used to produce electricity. Shares are calculated using the Output Method, which accounts for the amount of electricity generated, the fuel type used, and the conversion efficiency and technology of the generating plants. From 2016 the Others category includes solar. Energy analysts and climate researchers use it to track Singapore's reliance on natural gas and the pace of diversification in the power sector.

Note: a. Data for 2021 is as of June 2021. b. Numbers may not add up to the totals due to rounding. c. The Fuel Mix presented in this table is calculated using the Output Method. The Output Method uses the amount of electricity generated and the corresponding type of fuel used to calculate the fuel mix for the generation of electricity. It takes into account the domestic fuel-to-electricity conversion efficiency of the generating plants and the plant technology. d. From 2016, the category "Others" includes solar.
