Hexagonal grids of radius 600m
Description
Urban Redevelopment Authority GeoJSON hexagonal grid of 600 m radius covering mainland Singapore, published from January 2025 within URA’s regular hex-grid family (20 m to 1000 m radius). Researchers bin spatial indicators onto a mid-scale mesh for planning analytics and comparable map visualisations.
Official description
To facilitate the aggregation of geospatial data and create smoother visualisation maps for planning-related analytics and metrics, Urban Redevelopment Authority (URA) created regular hexagon grids of multiple grid sizes (from 20m to 1000m radius) centred on the mainland area of Singapore. These grids are intended to support various scenarios in planning / research studies, etc. and enable consistent comparison of aggregated data across different datasets.
