Resident Unemployed Persons Aged 15 Years and Over by Highest Qualification Attained, Action Taken to Look for Work and Sex (Census of Population 2010)
Description
From the Census of Population 2010, this Singapore Department of Statistics table cross-tabulates resident unemployed persons aged 15 years and over by highest qualification attained, the action they took to look for work, and sex. Job-search methods are grouped into employment service, advertisement or writing in, asking friends or relatives, and other actions, each reported as total, male and female counts. Pairing search method with qualification level shows how job seekers with different educational backgrounds went about finding work, and whether men and women relied on different channels. Labour economists and manpower policy researchers use it as a decennial benchmark for job-search behaviour and the structure of unemployment in Singapore.
