Quarterly retrenchment statistics from 1998 through the first quarter of 2026 by industry under SSIC 2020 and occupational group, sourced from the Ministry of Manpower and published by the Singapore Department of Statistics in CSV. Previously labelled redundancy; coverage and SSIC versions changed over time with rounding and sector aggregation footnotes. Labour economists track layoff cycles across sectors in Singapore.

Source: MINISTRY OF MANPOWER Data Last Updated: 16/06/2026 Update Frequency: Quarterly Footnotes: Previously known as Redundancy. 1) Before 2006, data pertain to private sector establishments each with at least 25 employees. From 2006 onwards, it includes the public sector. 2) Data are based on SSIC1996(1998-1999), SSIC2005(2000-2005), SSIC2020(2006-current). 3) Data for the three major sectors do not add up to the total as the latter includes Agriculture, Fishing, Quarrying, Utilities and Sewerage & Waste Management. 4) Data are rounded to the nearest 10. Hence may not add up to the total. 5) Data are revised at the industry level to reflect updates in industry classification of firms based on SSIC 2020.
