Description
Ministry of Education annual CSV of school life expectancy for Singapore’s resident population from 2000 through 2020—the expected years of education a six-year-old will enrol in over a lifetime given current enrolment rates, excluding pre-school. From 2005, figures include private educational institutions. Education planners monitor long-run schooling participation.
Official description
School Life Expectancy is the number of years of education that a 6 year old child can expect to enrol in over his/her lifetime, given the current enrolment rates. It is calculated by taking the sum of enrolment rates across each single year of age starting at age six. Notes: 1) Figures refer to resident population, i.e. Singapore citizens and permanent residents and exclude enrolment in pre-school. 2) Figures from 2005 include private educational institutions.
