Secondary Enrolment by Level and Age
Description
Ministry of Education CSV of Singapore secondary enrolment by level, age and sex from 2016 through 2025. Age is measured at the start of the year; figures cover government, government-aided, independent, specialised independent and specialised schools, with N(T) including Specialised Schools on ITE Skills Certificate pathways. From the 2024 Secondary 1 cohort, Full Subject-Based Banding replaced N(T), N(A) and Express streams. Education planners track age-grade patterns through the Full SBB transition.
Official description
1. N(T) figures include students in Specialised Schools. These students are taking the ITE Skills Certificate (ISC) course or are in a 2-year work-study programme after completing ISC. 2. Include Government, Government-aided, Independent, Specialised Independent and Specialised schools. 3. Age is as at the start of the year. 4. Starting from the 2024 Secondary 1 cohort, the N(T), N(A) and Express courses were removed with the introduction of Full Subject-Based Banding (Full SBB). With Full SBB, students have greater flexibility to offer subjects at different subject levels as they progress through secondary school.
