Water Temperature and Weather Data - Marine Environmental Sensing Network (MESN)

Description

Monthly averages of water temperature, air temperature, air pressure, relative humidity, solar irradiance, and wind speed recorded by Marine Environmental Sensing Network buoys at St John's Island, Raffles Lighthouse, and Pulau Ubin. MESN is the ocean monitoring arm of the St John's Island National Marine Laboratory, and it also collects a range of seawater parameters relevant to biogeochemical and oceanographic processes and to climate-change research. The spreadsheet is updated twice a year, in June and December. Marine scientists, climate researchers, and students use it to track sea temperature and coastal weather conditions in Singapore's southern waters.

Official description

This dataset contains monthly averages of water temperature, air temperature, air pressure, relative humidity, solar irradiance and wind speed, read by MESN buoys located at St. John's Island, Raffles Lighthouse, and Pulau Ubin. MESN is the ocean monitoring arm of St. John's Island National Marine Laboratory (SJINML). Besides water temperature and weather, MESN collects data on a variety of seawater parameters important to biogeochemical and oceanographic processes that are relevant to the study of climate change. For more information on MESN data, please visit https://ombak.mesn.sg/more/parameters This dataset will be updated biannually (June and December).
