Enrolment - Pre-University, By Level and Course

MOE publishes pre-university enrolment in Singapore junior colleges, centralised institutes, and pre-U centres by course and level from 1980 to 2021. The CSV reflects MOE’s 2006 broad-based JC policy requiring students to take subjects outside their specialization stream. Education researchers can track arts versus science course uptake and level mix over decades. The single dataset anchors the wider schools and enrolment collections on data.gov.sg.

Official description

Since 2006, as part of a new broad-based JC education, students are required to do at least one subject outside their area of specialization. For example, a Science course student is required to take at least one Humanities subject and an Arts course student is required to take at least one Science subject.

The CSV captures JC and equivalent pathways, including broad-based subject requirements introduced in 2006. Useful for education planners studying STEM versus arts uptake and gender patterns in pre-U institutions.
