URA quarterly rental indices cover private residential and commercial gross rents in Singapore, with office and retail sub-indices by locality where concentration warrants. CSV datasets include commercial and private residential rental indices using 1998-Q4 and 2009-Q1 bases respectively. Property analysts tracking CCR, RCR, and OCR market segments can study rent movements alongside price indices. Official metadata defines locality groupings and links to CCR/RCR boundary maps on URA’s portal.
Official description
Rent refers to gross rent per month inclusive of service charge. An overall rental index for office and retail space as well as sub-indices by locality are given in this publication. The grouping of the areas are determined by the concentration of the particular type of property and the closeness in rental per sqm. As most of the office and retail space are concentrated in the Central Region, sub-indices for the outlying regions are not compiled. Within the Central Region, the locality classification used which follow largely the planning areas are Central Area and Fringe Area.
