Road Traffic Conditions during Peak Hours

LTA bundles open data on Singapore road traffic conditions during peak periods in this collection. Member datasets include Average Daily Traffic Volume Entering the City and Average Speed During Peak Hours as CSV time series. Analysts can relate weekday congestion patterns to volumes entering the central area and speeds on the network. Official notes clarify measurement windows for daily counts versus morning and evening peaks.

Official description

Daily traffic volume is recorded between 7.30am-7.00pm on weekdays; Avg speed and congestion-free roads are for peak hour periods, i.e. 8-9am & 6-7pm on weekdays.

Average Speed During Peak Hours

Average vehicle speeds on Singapore expressways and arterial roads during peak hours, reported annually from 2004 through 2025 by the Land Transport Authority. Peak hours are defined as 8 to 9am and 6 to 7pm on weekdays, and the dataset carries three fields: year, average expressway speed, and average arterial road speed. Transport planners, traffic engineers, and mobility researchers use the series to assess congestion levels, evaluate the effect of road pricing and network improvements, and compare expressway performance with the arterial network over two decades.
