Newspapers-Straits Echo-1903 to 1904

Description

This National Library Board dataset indexes digitised Straits Echo newspaper articles published in 1903 and 1904. Records identify issues, publication dates, editions, pages and articles, with article titles, the first 50 words and contributor information where available. It enables researchers to discover early twentieth-century primary sources on Singapore and the wider Straits region, assess potentially relevant articles and trace them to specific pages in the digitised newspaper collection.

Official description

This dataset is a list of digitised newspaper articles published 70 years ago or longer from the National Library, Singapore. These materials present a valuable resource on Singapore’s history, art and culture, digitised as part of an endeavour to preserve and provide better access to resources located within the library to enable users to explore and discover these resources.
