Number of active CPF members as at end of quarter
Description
Central Provident Fund Board CSV of the number of active CPF members in Singapore as at the end of each quarter, with 89 rows covering the first quarter of 2004 to the first quarter of 2026. An active member has at least one CPF employment contribution paid in the current or any of the preceding three months, and self-employed persons who are not concurrently employees are excluded, so the count approximates the contributing employed workforce. Figures are rounded to the nearest ten thousand. The series is a useful high-frequency indicator of formal employment in Singapore.
Official description
An active CPF member refers to a person who has at least 1 CPF employment contribution paid for him for the current or for any of the preceding 3 months. Excludes self-employed who are not employees concurrently. Figures are rounded to the nearest ten thousands.
