Description
Ministry of Manpower annual CSV of retrenched employees in Singapore from 1998 through 2025. Retrenchment covers redundancy termination of permanent staff and early end of term contracts. Before 2006, figures cover private establishments with at least 25 employees; from 2006 the public sector is included. Labour economists track redundancy cycles across recessions and recoveries.
Official description
Retrenchment refers to the termination of permanent employees due to redundancy and early termination of term contract employees due to redundancy. Source: Labour Market Survey, Manpower Research & Statistics Department, MOM Before 2006, data pertain to private sector establishments (each with at least 25 employees). From 2006 onwards, it also includes the public sector.
