Description

Ministry of Manpower quarterly CSV of retrenched employees in Singapore by industry and occupation from 1998 through 2025, from the Labour Market Survey. Retrenchment covers redundancy terminations of permanent and term-contract staff; pre-2006 figures cover private establishments with at least 25 employees, and from 2006 include the public sector. Labour economists track layoff patterns across industries and occupations.

Official description

Retrenchment refers to the termination of permanent employees due to redundancy and early termination of term contract employees due to redundancy. Source: Labour Market Survey, Manpower Research & Statistics Department, MOM Before 2006, data pertain to private sector establishments (each with at least 25 employees). From 2006 onwards, it also includes the public sector.
