Number of Retrenched Employees by Occupation - Quarterly

Description

Quarterly counts of retrenched employees in Singapore broken down by occupation, published by the Ministry of Manpower. Retrenchment covers permanent staff made redundant and early termination of term contracts for redundancy, sourced from the Labour Market Survey. Before 2006 figures reflect private establishments with at least 25 workers; from 2006 the public sector is included. The CSV supports monitoring cyclical labour market stress, sectoral restructuring, and occupation-level redundancy patterns for economic and workforce research.

Official description

Retrenchment refers to the termination of permanent employees due to redundancy and early termination of term contract employees due to redundancy. Source: Labour Market Survey, Manpower Research & Statistics Department, MOM Before 2006, data pertain to private sector establishments (each with at least 25 employees). From 2006 onwards, it also includes the public sector.
