Description
Annual retrenchment counts by industry track permanent and term-contract redundancies in Singapore from 1998 to 2025. Ministry of Manpower data from the Labour Market Survey cover private establishments with at least 25 employees before 2006 and include the public sector thereafter. Supports sectoral labour market analysis, recession impact studies, and MOM retrenchment by industry searches.
Official description
Retrenchment refers to the termination of permanent employees due to redundancy and early termination of term contract employees due to redundancy. Source: Labour Market Survey, Manpower Research & Statistics Department, MOM Before 2006, data pertain to private sector establishments (each with at least 25 employees). From 2006 onwards, it also includes the public sector.
