Two-year Moving Average of Distribution of Residents with Disabilities Aged Outside the Labour Force Aged 15 to 64 by Main Reason for Not Working
Description
Ministry of Manpower CSV of two-year moving averages (June periods, 2019–2025) for the distribution of Singapore residents with disabilities aged 15–64 who are outside the labour force, by main reason for not working—including education or training-related reasons and discouraged workers. Smooths year-to-year volatility from small disability samples for inclusive labour-market monitoring.
Official description
1) Data are for June periods. 2) Data are based on two-year moving averages, e.g. 2019 is the average for 2018 and 2019. The use of two-year moving averages is to smooth year-on-year fluctuations in the data due to a relatively small number of persons of disabilities. 3) Data for 'Education/Training-Related' includes pursuing full-time study, pursuing part-time study, awaiting the start of academic year, awaiting national service (NS) call-up, awaiting examination results and attending courses / training. 4) 'Discouraged' refers to persons outside the labour force who are not actively looking for a job because they believe their job search would not yield results. Reasons cited for being discouraged include: (a) Believes no suitable work available; (b) Employers’ discrimination (e.g. prefer younger workers) and (c) Lacks necessary qualification, training, skills or experience.
