Industrial Arbitration Court Awards by Type of Workers
Description
Ministry of Manpower CSV counting awards issued by Singapore's Industrial Arbitration Court by the type of workers covered, from 2005 through 2018. Each row gives a year, a worker category, and the number of awards, so users can see which occupational groups were most often covered by the court's certified agreements and arbitration awards. Categories were revised in 2013: professionals, managers, executives and technicians were split into two groups, production and transport operators were regrouped as production, transport and manual workers, and a maritime officers and seamen category was added. Industrial-relations researchers should treat that break carefully when comparing years.
Official description
In 2013, there was a re-categorization of categories for the type of workers covered. 'Professionals, Managers, Executives & Technicians' was broken down to 2 new categories- 'Professionals, Managers & Executives' and 'Associate Professionals & Technicians'. 'Production & Transport Operators, Cleaners & Labourers' was replaced by a new category 'Production, Transport & Manual Workers'. In addition, a new category, 'Maritime Officers & Seaman' was created and tracked from 2013.
