This Singapore Department of Statistics series tracks the Foreign Wholesale Trade Index in chained volume terms, rebased to 2017 = 100 and seasonally adjusted, on a quarterly basis. Chained volume measures strip out price effects so that movements reflect real changes in wholesale trade activity rather than inflation, while seasonal adjustment removes recurring quarterly patterns and makes consecutive quarters directly comparable. The extract spans 1995 to the fourth quarter of 2024, but the Department notes that this series has been discontinued and directs users to the newer Foreign Wholesale Trade Series in chained volume terms. It remains valuable as a historical record for studying Singapore's entrepot and external wholesale trade cycles.
